Member Services

The Amarillo Area Bar Association offers a number of services to its members. The Association hosts several continuing legal education seminars each year in addition to credit received for attending the monthly luncheon program. Each year the Association conducts its annual Spring Institute providing high quality continuing legal education focused on the needs of local attorneys. Members are included in the Association’s online directory developed to help them inform the public of their background and areas of practice.

CLE Credits

The Amarillo Area Bar Association offers several opportunities to obtain CLE credits to area attorneys, with discounted rates for AABA members. Membership Luncheons that are held each month from September through April provide .75 hours of CLE, including .25 hours of Ethics. A variety of CLE courses are sponsored each year and the list can be viewed by clicking on “CLE Schedule.” The CLE Schedule includes a Registration Form that can either be mailed to AABA, 112 W. 8 th , Suite 615, Amarillo, TX 79101; or forwarded by e-mail to director@amarillobar.org. Finally, the Spring Institute includes a symposium providing 3.0 hours of CLE. The Spring Institute symposium for 2018 is scheduled for May 4.

Public Services

The Amarillo Area Bar Association serves as a resource concerning legal services in the Texas Panhandle. Members of the public looking for an attorney can use the Association’s online directory to find information on attorneys who can best meet their needs. The Association can also assist the media in locating experts in particular areas of the law.
